Build around the route
A skyline, local landmark, trail shape or course feature can give a race medal a sense of place.
Recognize the achievement
Make the distance, event name and year easy to find. A finisher medal can also leave room for a name or result if that is part of your plan.
Connect the ribbon and medal
Use the ribbon colors and printed details to support the medal artwork rather than compete with it.
Plan the series
Recurring events can use a consistent visual identity with one changeable element for each year, distance or challenge.
Allow time for approval
Agree the artwork deadline, quantity and delivery schedule early enough for the event team to review the proof.
